With the late evening summer twilight in Montana waning, George McGovern works on his latest book about his 1972 presidential campaign against Richard Nixon. McGovern says he enjoys working at night when there are no distractions, especially no phone calls. Often he writes until well after midnight with his dog Ursa, a Newfoundland the size of a black bear, at his feet.
